The Allewell family along with the many great staff members here at Tubby’s have operated for the past 25 years with the mission to provide our customers with the best customer service around. With our truck repair and trailer repair shop open 24 hours Monday to Friday, our tire shop that is open 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and our growing fleet of road service vehicles that provide mechanical and tire road service 24 hours a day 365 days a year along with the top technicians in the industry we have and will continue to provide fastest and best quality service to each and every customer in the London and surrounding area.
Tubby’s first opened in London Ontario Canada in 1957 by Howard Dickenson (Tubby). The Dickenson family owned and operated Tubby’s Bus & Truck at 1490 Hamilton Rd. until 1987 when Dave and Catherine Allewell purchased the business. Tubby’s Tire Service was owned and operated by George Clutterbuck along side Tubby’s Bus & Truck at 1490 Hamilton Rd. until the passing of George Clutterbuck in 2002. The tire business was then sold to MTC Tire. In 1993 the Allewell family owned and operated Tubby’s Auto and Tire at 762 Industrial Rd. in London until we sold that business to City Tire in 1997.
In 2004, we built an 11 bay truck shop and moved our operations to the present location just out side of London at 545 Moonlight Way, Dorchester Ontario. With our location now backing onto the north side of Highway 401 in between the London Husky and the Fifth Wheel truck stops we were able to increase our ability to serve our customers. In addition to the new location we changed our name from Tubby’s Bus and Truck to Tubby’s Truck and Trailer to better represent our customer base. In May of 2012, we reopened Tubby’s Tire Service. With the addition of the tire service Tubby’s is one of the only facilities in Ontario that is able to provide its customers with full mechanical and tire service both in shop and on location.
